The total amount of flow of medium -fluid or gas- produced by the pressure washer is used to determine the pressure loss. However, the operating pressure of the unit does not affect the pressure loss. For better understanding of this concept, the table below lists the measurementf a 100 FT long hose. To calculate the pressure loss for other hose lengths, it is calculated proportionally to 100FT length.
For e.g. a 50 FT of hose will have 50% or 1/2 of the amount of loss while a 200 FT of hose will have 200% or double loss of the amount shown in the below table. Besides this, there are a number of factors which may cause pressure loss.
Factors like hose liner ID tolerance, hose inner liner smoothness etc. Also the manner in which a hose is assembled and installed, the type of fittings used and also the temperature of the medium. Also Pressure loss decreases if the hose is positioned uphill. However, the following table’s calculations are not based on taking into consideration the aforesaid factors as these are not very essential.
